Our founder, Simon Shuck, established Inspired by Design in 2001. A family run business, providing lighting both in the UK and worldwide, we were initially set up as a distributor for quality high-end European lighting brands. But a niche in the market for bespoke lighting design supplies soon became apparent. 

So, we identified some particularly excellent craftsmen and artisanal lighting factories in Europe and the Far East to work with. Building on our global connections and forming solid partnerships, they all help to produce your custom-made lighting projects. 

As we’ve grown over the years, we have also become a trusted supplier to many architects, lighting designers and interior designers in the UK and beyond. And our strong network of partners means you receive a highly professional service.
